Open Church meets at Open Cafe on K-Road. Cafe closes and Church opens on Sundays.

Coffee is served, Christ is offered. Music is silent, Worship and Praise is loud.

Brick wall is saturated with scent of Christ where aroma of coffee does.

Wooden tables are surrounded by followers of Jesus where people of hunger and thirst does.

Open Church is young and vibrant community of faith where passion and compassion are present by the Holy Spirit, empathy and sympathy are shared in the love of God.

Open Church is live and alive.

A couple of decades ago, I was one of those who dreamed of having a christian gathering in a cafe-like setting. Their goal was focused to attract more souls (secular people) drawing them into christian community (sacred space) by providing seeker friendly religious atmosphere.

Hence, my interest was in line with theirs to find a better way to make the gospel message available for anyone who are keen to explore through opportunities given under experimental challenges in their spiritual journey.

Spirit and body (flesh) cannot be separated. Likewise salvation and spiritual growth should be integrated. Otherwise separation between the church and the world would be unavoidable.

It was an eye-opening goose bumped experience to join the Sunday service at the Open Church for the first time. It was an heart pumping excitement to become a part of the Open Church on the following weeks. Not simply because of eye-witnessing an aged faded dream come true. Amazingly overwhelmingly because of experiencing the God who is living today and at work through generations to fulfil His eternal plan according to His ultimate purpose.

I’d kept praying for the Open Church to continue growing stronger and healthier prevailing in her active and dynamic life, as viral, phenomenal, and inspiring body of Christ to make huge impact on spiritual journey of anybody and everybody who seek for the truth, here and now.
